  7. !TexturGdn - The main Texture Garden application.
  8.              Texture Garden is an algorithmic texture generation program.
  9.  
  10. Docs       - A directory of documentation in the form of text files.
  11.              There is also the !Help file inside the main application.
  12.  
  13. Extras     - Contains a syntax-colouring mode for the !Zap text editor.
  14.              This is designed specifically for displaying texture files.
  15.  
  16. Textures   - Contains a number of text descriptions of textures.
  17.              These may be dragged into !TexturGdn windows to display them.
  18.  
  19. Getting started
  20. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  21. Run the "!TexturGdn" application and drag a few text files from somewhere
  22. inside the "Textures" directory into its main window.
  23.  
  24. Cosmetic improvements
  25. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  26. There are a number of sprites which Texture Garden will use if they are
  27. in the WIMP's sprite pool.  I used to supply these with the program, but
  28. I was advised that putting them into the WIMPs sprite pool without the
  29. user's permission was bad practice.  Some of them are so common that
  30. although they are not in ROM, most people will easily be able to source
  31. copies.  If you have sprites named "ptr_hand" or "ptr_menu" then Texture
  32. Garden will use them.  Also, "small_diro", "file_fff²" and the various
  33. other files referred to in section 04 of the "Docs.Technical" file will
  34. be used if they are available.

  36. Notes
  37. ~~~~~
  38. Texture Garden works on all major Acorn RISC systems except RISC-OS 2.
  39.  
  40. It should be able to operate from a read-only medium, though you will be
  41. unable to save your preferences or store your palettes.

  43. Upgrading
  44. ~~~~~~~~~
  45. Textures demonstrating any new features are stored in "Textures.Features".
  46.  
  47. Those upgrading from previous versions of Texture Garden are advised to
  48. examine the "Docs.History" file to get some idea of the changes.

  54. The "Textures" directory is unchanged.
